Sugar Cookies



1 CUP PURE CANE SUGAR
1 CUP SOFTENED BUTTER OR MARGARINE
3 TBSP MILK
1 TSP VANILLA
1 EGG
3 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 1/2 TSP BAKING POWDER
1/2 SALT
DESSERT SPRINKLES OR SUGAR

HEAT OVEN TO 400*
IN LARGE BOWL,  COMBINE SUGAR, BUTTER, MILK, VANILLA & EGG; BLEND WELL.
LIGHTLY SPOON FLOUR INTO MEASURING CUP; LEVEL OFF.DD FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, SALT;MIX WELL. 
COVER WITH PLASTIC; REFRIGERATE 1 HOUR.
ON LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE,  ROLL OUT 1/3 OF THE DOUGH AT A TIME TO 1/8" THICKNESS.  
KEEP REMAINING DOUGH REFRIGERATED.  
CUT WITH FLOURED 2" COOKIE CUTTER.  PLACE 1" APART ON UNGREASED COOKIE SHEETS.  
IF DESIRED, SPRINKLE WITH SUGAR.  
BAKE @ 400* FOR 5-9 MIN AND REMOVE IMMEDIATELY FROM COOKIE SHEETS.  
DECORATE AS DESIRED.
